SASTRA (SCHOOL FOR ADVANCED SURGICAL TRAINING AND RESEARCH IN AYURVEDA)
SASTRA (School for Advanced Surgical Training and Research in Ayurveda) is a research clinic that works to develop relevant surgical techniques in classical Ayurveda.
SASTRA started its activities with the Ano Rectal Clinic on 29th Oct 2004. Over a period of nearly seven years, more than three thousand patients have been treated in this research clinic.
The major types of diseases treated are Anal Polyp, Anal ulcer, Chronic constipation, Corns, Diabetic ulcer, Fissure in Ano, Fistula in Ano, Haemorrhoids, Hypertonic sphincter, Hypertrophied papillae, Pilonidal sinus, Rectal Carcinoma, Rectal Prolapse, Ulcerative colitis, Warts and the like.
The various procedures that have been performed in this clinic are as follows - Kshara karma - 193 , Kshara karma & Agni karma -116, Kshara sutra -130, Agni karma -103, Sastra karma -41, Jalukavacarana -76, Uttara vasti - 54, Siravedhana - 14 , Total - 540
About 83 Medical Camps have also been conducted to reach out to various sections of the society.
